Belmar is a walkable district of shops, restaurants, offices and apartments that serves as Lakewood's downtown.
History
Belmar was built on the site of the Villa Italia mall, which opened in 1966 and was torn down in the early 2000s. The new district opened in 2004.
Today
Belmar's streets, events and plazas draw shoppers and diners from across the west Denver area.
